Shell

The challenge

People don’t like Shell – and they don’t want to listen to them. Despite Shell’s ever increasing investment in alternate energies and research, not to mention public statements from their CEO calling renewable energy the future, people don’t want to hear it. And if they do hear it – they don’t believe it.

How can we get people to open their minds and realise the debate is more nuanced?

The solution

If Shell are saying the right things already, but people won’t listen because they are Shell – we propose taking Shell out of the equation.

We’d stage a fake hack of Shell’s online presence and social media feeds. We’d then share Shell’s real statements, but under the guise of angry hackers intent on #GivingThemShell.

Maybe people will be willing to listen when they think the information is coming from someone else. And maybe they’ll be surprised to find out they were given Shell. The real Shell.

Disruptive, exciting and shareable we believe this campaign could be incredibly effective – and it can be executed in a completely integrated manner.
