About

Hello.

We are Georgina and David, and this is who we are.

We are passionate about ideas. Whether they are big ideas, spanning multiple touch points – or small ideas that simply make someone smile.

We believe in having fun, in loving what you do and doing what you love.

We are driven and ambitious, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

We would rather aim for greatness and fail, than aim for mediocrity and succeed.

We have unorthodox backgrounds, giving us a unique perspective when it comes to making creative that stands out.

You can read more about our origin stories and misadventures below, or better yet – get in touch and we will tell you about them over a pint.

See you soon

G:

Hello.

My name is Georgina (Art Director & Illustrator)

I have worked in advertising for 10 years. I started as a Resource Co-ordinator at Dare where I cut my teeth on excel spreadsheets trying to create a sense of order out of the daily chaos. Although most days I felt like I was chasing my tail, I did begin to get a sense of the inner workings of each department.

A keen illustrator I had always been drawn to the creative areas, but a lack of confidence held me back. It’s not an easy, or obvious, leap to go from a Resource Manager to a Creative.

I became a Resource Manager at Agency Republic, a small but incredibly creative and fun agency. I had my own department, with only me in it. It was bliss. Except for one thing… It just wasn’t what I wanted to be doing. I still yearned to immerse myself in the creative world. The closer I got to understanding what the creatives were doing, the more I felt as if I was trapped behind a sheet of glass.

So I bit the bullet. I began to express an interest to our ECD and worked on a few practice briefs, while also helping with any illustrative briefs I could in my own time. Eventually I had the awkward conversation with the MD, Finance Controller, ECD and my boss, where I told them that the job I was being paid quite nicely for, I didn’t really want to do anymore.

After some discussion they agreed to support me in making a transition, there were no guarantees I would get a job, and I would need to become an intern. Gulp.

I quit my job as a resource manager, took an enormous pay cut, and became an intern Art Director. And I haven’t looked back. Agency Republic merged with Critical Mass, bringing even more opportunities, a creative partner and a permanent position.

Now I’ve worked on nearly every brand in the building, and even provided illustrations for our global offices. And I’ve never been happier.

Hello.

My name is David.

This is the part where I tell you how storytelling is my passion, and writing is my craft. And, you know, clichés like that. All in the hope you’ll hire me to make stuff up in exchange for cash.

But really my passion is escapism and storytelling is my craft. I consider myself a creative first, and a writer second.

So, speaking of stories, here’s the short version of mine. I started working in advertising after being selected for the IPA AdSchool internship program in 2012. During that time I was part of the team who won the creative brief competition.

After that I was given a full-time, permanent, grown up copywriting position at Critical Mass – the agency I’d had my placement. Here I’ve gone on to work on successful pitches, innovative campaigns and global e-commerce platforms.

Before all of that I was a philosophy student at Durham University, and I dabbled in stand-up comedy and playwriting.
